About Me

Hi my name is John and I decided to start up this blog to keep friends and family back on our home planet of England up to date with the travels and adventures I am enjoying in retirement.

I decided many years ago from holidays taken on the mainland and Islands of Spain that this was the place I wanted to discover when I had the time and money and with this in mind I was fortunate enough to buy a small apartment back in the days when the boom was on and pesetas were still part of the Spanish system.

Based in an urbanisation just outside Torrevieja, on the Costa Blanca, named La Zenia I now have somewhere I can spend my time planning trips to other parts of Spain as well as adventures to other worlds.

The life style in Spain is as much a difference as if you have travelled to a different planet which is how I came up with the title of this blog. Don’t get me wrong “different” brings with it challenges but can also be enjoyable and for those that embrace the changes there are so many wonderful places to visit and people to meet.

I hope to be able to bring to you insights to places seen through my eyes, with the information to help you should you decide at some stage to follow in my footsteps.
